RTC 2010 Call For Papers!

For the first time, RTC 2009 had a call for papers, where those who were interested in presenting at the next conference could submit outlines for consideration by the Committee. This was a huge success, and has kept the conference in touch with the trends in practice.

If you are interested in being a presenter at RTC 2010, we are now calling for papers. Online abstract submission is now open and will close on the 20th of November 2009. Hurry! Time is shorter than you think.

Submitted abstracts will be judged by the RTC Committee. Abstract acceptance, program scheduling and the form of presentation will be communicated via email in January 2010.

Abstracts will be approved on their merit, within the conference’s time and resource constraints. Successful applicants will present in either a seminar/forum session (40 minutes or 90 minutes duration) or lab session (90 minutes or 3 hours duration). Authors should indicate the length of their planned presentation. Case studies demonstrating innovative or well-developed practice are welcomed.

 

Prospective attendees should be able to get a good idea of the session from the title alone.

Abstract Criteria

Submitted abstracts must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Abstracts must be submitted using the abstract template (this template includes areas for speaker background, the abstract, and three learning objectives).
  • Abstracts must be submitted and presented in English
  • Text should be entered in Sentence case
  • The size of your abstract should be limited to 250 words or one A4 page
  • Your abstract will need to be submitted as a Word or PDF document
  • Describe what will be presented, focussing on the material to be covered and the benefits to the attendees
  • Identify whom the session is intended for, listing job titles etc.
  • At the bottom of your abstract page, please list 3 learning objectives that delegates will take away from your presentation. Please list these in point form. e.g. Acquire, publish, and report Shared Coordinates

 

Abstract notification (acceptance/rejection) will be communicated to submitting authors in January 2010.

 

Other Submission Requirements

  • You will be required to nominate your audiovisual and software requirements at the time of abstract submission

 

After review of the submissions, we may contact you to suggest changes to your subject matter or mode of presentation, so that we can present a conference with the expected scope and quality of subject matter.

Successful applicants will receive complimentary registration to the conference. Travel and accommodation is at the speaker's own expense.

Manly: Seven miles from Sydney, and a thousand miles from care!

Revit Content Creation Progress:

The great debate of RTC 2009 on Revit content, which culminated in an open forum discussion on the Saturday afternoon, continues with the work of the committee formed to take the matter further. Many at the conference voiced their viewpoints, and the discussion has since been used by the committee to guide the development of content standards guidelines for Australia and New Zealand.



Events have continued to move at a rapid pace. The committee has already started active discussions. Visit the web site – AusBIM Downunder Parametrics at the address https://ausbim.com/Wiki/tiki-index.php A program of activities for the next year, has been mapped out, culminating in the release of new Australia/New Zealand family creation guidelines at RTC 2010.
